Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for an immediate end to Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed Pakistan's support for the kingdom. Business Recorder reported his statement on 9 October.
The newspaper said Sharif condemned repeated attacks, including strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport. In the statement, he said civilians had been killed or injured and praised Saudi forces and the coalition for intercepting ballistic missiles.
Sharif reiterated Pakistan's commitment to Saudi sovereignty, territorial integrity and security, and expressed support for the kingdom's defence of its people and infrastructure. His remarks are a statement of Pakistan's position; they do not establish that the attacks have stopped or that a ceasefire has been reached.
